sad songs for sadder people.

emo. music that makes you feel emotions (read: sad). a lot can [has] be said about the style of music that wove itself through my coming of age years. those awkward tween, teen, and 20-something years when nothing feels good and nobody understands why. those years were 1999-2010 for me and spanned the ages of 14-25. and now i want to tell you about them.

it should be said up front that I am playing pretty fast and loose with the genre. youre likely going to disagree with some album’s inclusion in this series and that’s ok. trust that every inclusion in this series was painstakingly considered. every album we talk about here is talked about for a reason.

i think that explains it. this is something i’ve dreamt of doing for quite sometime and I am not getting any younger. break out those studded belts, manic panic, youth large tees, & let’s get sad together. hope you like what you hear.
